Jewels and Rikay decided that they were going to the circus club they wanted to check out the new band playing there tonight that everyone was talking about. Hell nothings more important than rock n roll and a good time right? So they piled into Jewels' lil EXP, cranked up the jams and headed to the club. The place was packed, the band was good and Rikay was having a great time with some guy she met, so Jewels went out to the lobby to smoke a cig and get some much needed air. As she was standing there smoking, a good looking guy walked up, stood next to her and lit a cig. Jewels just smiled and said "Hi". He smiled back and said "What'd ya think about the show?" Jewels was still reeling over the beautiful smile, then she heard herself stammer. "Ah,oh, the show was great! Loved them." Oh, god there's that beautiful smile again, she could feel her heart beating right outta her chest! He looked at her and said "Ya wanna join me in the bar?" OOH, how she would love too!! Well here goes, he'll surely leave now. "Um ,I 'm not old enough." There she said it!! She turned away waiting for him to make his excuses and go, but he just smiled and said "Ya know, It's kinda stuffy in there anyway, wait right here I'll be just a minute ok?" Jewels thought okay, as she just nodded her head and lit up another smoke.Where the heck was Rikay?? She looked in the club and she was still talking with the guy she met. Jewels chuckled to herself, "Well at least someone's going to get lucky tonight!" "Well, I was hoping!!" OOH, my god, here he was back in front of her with two drinks in his hand and that smile that could knock anyone off their feet! Damn did she say that out loud? She just turned two shades of red and hung her head. He just chuckled and said "Here, babe." handing her the drink he got for her. "I liked it much better out here with you, anyway." Wow, she couldn't believe this. This guy actually came out here and brought the party to her!! Just then Rikay walked up and smiled, "Hey, girlfriend." Jewels smiled and said "Hey." She looked at Jewels and her friend and said, "Well I can see you've been busy without me!" Before Jewels could answer Rikay, with this little sheepish grin on her face, stammers, "Would you mind driving home by yourself tonight?" Jewels thought for a minute, then before she could voice her answer, he says,"Don't worry hun, I'll make sure she gets home all right." And smiles that smile.God how her heart actually skipped beats when he did that!! Rikay was satisfied and skipped off back to her new found friend. Jewels hangs her head embarrassed that she's left alone again. He lifts her face up with his finger to look him in the eye and smiles, "Take my hand and let's get outta here?" As she grabs his hand she's unaware that she's shaking. He holds it tight, lifts it to his mouth and kisses it softly. "Come on, I'll take you home." They had a wonderful night, both talking as if they could never stop, about their lives and dreams, then they made love till the early morning light. When Jewels woke up she lay there thinking it was all a dream, then she finds the note that he left. "Had one of the best times of my life. Never forget me,cos I'll never forget you." Jewel's heart sank as she realized she didn't even know his name! Day's went by without hearing a thing from the guy that took her heart without even looking back. Jewels scolded herself and blamed the whole mess on herself. How stupid was it to have sex with someone you didn't even know and to top it all off without protection? Gosh, if she would have just stayed home that night she wouldn't be here at the clinic right now feeling as low as she possibly could. It was all her mistake, now she'll have to pay the price. It's not this innocent baby's fault she was the one that made the mistake. Rikay was with her throughout the whole ordeal, even went into the delivery room with her. Jewels was scared to death, she was only 18, had never even been in the hospital for anything until now. He was born the next morning, Jewels named him Brandon. Now that Jewels was a mommy everything changed. Her life to her seemed like she grew up overnight. While her friend were out partying having a good old time she was at home. She took a job in the local factory. Went to work everyday and came home every night. Rikay would come by every now and then and scold her, "Girl,you need to get out." But Jewels wouldn't leave Brandon, he was her life now, she had someone that needed her and she was not about to let him down. She would listen to the radio at night and the music would keep her company. She really liked this new band and wanted to get the album, so one day she walked into the local record store and couldn't believe her eyes. There was that smile, looming at her from a huge poster on the wall!!! She couldn't believe her eyes. He was the lead singer in the band!! She bought the album and the posters and hung them up on her bedroom wall. When she was scared at night she always had him to look to and listen to. No one seemed to know her secret, so she kept it just that, her secret. She followed his career, hung on every word he sang. In her heart she knew that she loved him, but he probably would never even remember her now. He was famous and she was a single mother who worked in a factory. It was something she knew would never be. Days turned into years. How fast Brandon had grown, he was starting school and she felt so lonely now. Rikay came by and said "Come on, girl, it's your birthday for gods sake! Let go see the show!!" Jewels was scared. After all these years she still loved this guy. His career had slowed down, the place wasn't packed. Was it fate that brought his show here to the same club where they met so long ago? She thought no,he wouldn't even remember that ,it was just a one night stand for him,that's all. It all felt déjà vu…here she was standing in the lobby smoking a cig ,when here comes this guy. Normally Jewels wouldn't have given him the time of day, but when he asked if she would join him and a friend in the bar for a drink, she decided that her life must go on, what the heck,so she followed him to a dimly lit booth at the back of the bar,and there he was. He smiled that smile, and her heart skipped the beats just like it did so many years ago. He said "I thought after all these years I'd never find you again. So I took the chance of playing here, just to see if you'd come. You know I never caught your name?" Jewels' head was reeling. Was this happening? She stood there in disbelief. He stood up and smiled "Take my hand. This time I promise I won't let go!" She felt the tears rolling down her face as he reached up and kissed them away. They spent all night talking about their hopes and dreams and making love. In the back of her mind she knew that he would be leaving again but for now she was content on just being in his arms. When the morning came she stood and watched the tour bus pull away with tears in her eyes. As he wrapped his loving arms around her, she said to him,"How can you give this up for me?" He said "I've done everything that I dreamed of with music. Now it's time to live my life and be with the one I love." As they held hands and walked off into the sunset, he thought "Someday I'll tell her about the money I hid." She smiled thinking to herself "Someday I'll tell him that Brandon is his kid." The End |
